FAQs

What are your membership requirements?

For local residents, a New Brunswick picture I.D. or Drivers Licence will do. If you do not have picture I.D. then you will need to bring two pieces of government issued I.D. such as birth certificate and medicare card.

For Mt. A students who reside permanently in NB, the same requirements as listed above would apply. If you live out of province you will be required to provide one picture I.D. along with a second piece of I.D. showing your permanent address.

International Students may used a passport along with Mt. A student card.

We use your telephone number as a membership number. You can add other people to your membership, but as the primary member you would be responsible for any late charges on your account or damaged movies. Roommates may each have a separate account even if it is a shared telephone number. One advantage to this, is that you would each keep your reward points separate.

Why don't you have a subscription based deal like the one Save Easy used to have?

"Used to have" is the important part of this question. We've been told that the company which used to stock the grocery store has gone out of business, and for good reason. Subscription based stores will always have a difficult time surviving simply because they will never be able to keep up their selection of New Releases when people rent them and keep them for weeks at a time. Research shows that even online services such as this end up losing subscribers who become frustrated by the fact that the newest movies are always out.

Other video stores have 2 day rentals on all their New Releases. Why are some of your New Releases only "1 Day Rentals"?

We believe that for the first 3 to 4 weeks of release, a movie should be available to customers as often as possible. If a video store has 2 day rentals on all New Releases, this actually means they actually only have half the copies you see on the shelf, since they are rented out for twice the length of time. If all copies of a popular new movie go out on Friday night, the store may have no copies of that movie on Saturday night. Imagine not being able to offer customers any copies of a movie during its first weekend of release! After those first 3 or 4 weeks are up, and the demand for a movie begins to diminish, we change it to a 2 day rental.

Do you take reservations?

Yes we do. Simply give us a call and tell us what movie you’d like to reserve. All we ask is that you let us know by 6:00 pm if you’ve changed your mind, since if we hold it and you don’t pick it up, we lose rental revenue on this title. In this case you could end up being charged for the rental anyway.

What is your return time and late charge policy?

Our return time is 6:00 pm each evening. If a movie is an hour or so late and we have copies on the shelf it’s usually not a problem. On Fridays and Saturdays most copies are either rented or on reserve, so it is good to get movies in on time those nights. If you keep a movie an extra night, the cost is a full rental charge on the 1 Day rentals, and a half rental charge on the 2 Day rentals.
